Nicholas’s compositions includes instrumental and chamber music, songs, choral music, choral works with orchestra, organ music and a piece for youth orchestra. His operaCarina, received a highly acclaimed showcase at English National Opera in 2014. Into the world of light for solo cello, string orchestra and harp, and Procession for string orchestra and harp have been performed by Tamino Orchestra. Missa Concordiae has just received its première performance in Dulwich.

Nicholas pursues a busy career as a conductor, assistant conductor, pianist and accompanist. He recently conducted Handel’s Acis and Galatea at ENO to critical acclaim (see reviews) and Strauss’s Metamorphosen with Tamino Orchestra. Nicholas has worked as a freelance repetiteur or assistant conductor at the Royal Opera House, Hallé, Philharmonia, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Opera Rara and elsewhere, and is a regular member of the music staff at English National Opera. He was repetiteur for Sir Simon Rattle on the Aix/Salzburg Ring cycle with the Berlin Philharmoniker. He is founder and conductor of the Tamino Orchestra. More information here.
